One of the most powerful things you can learn is magic tricks. Many people aren't aware of the massive social improvement you can realize once you learn a few simple tricks of illusion and up close trickery.
For example, the other day I was at the park near my house. I was sipping on some green tea that I had just purchased from a local coffee house, and it turned out to be pretty good. I don't know if you'd ever had green tea before when you weren't expecting to, but it can be quite a nice surprise. I was going to get the new pumpkin mocha, but they were all out.
So there I was, sitting there enjoying my flavored drink from the East, when this guy popped up out of nowhere and said he was going to show me some magic tricks revealed. Now I wasn't quite sure what he was talking about, as he didn't really explain himself. He mumbling more than anything else.
But he proceeded to produce some of the best card tricks that I'd ever seen, so impressive that I took some pictures. Before I knew it, a small crowd had gathered to witness this magician perform his impromptu magic. For some reason, they thought he and I were partners, but I had never learned magic tricks in my life before, so I wasn't quite sure how to handle things.
When the show was over, if you can call it a show, people started asking me when he was performing next, and how they could get him at their party or wedding. Then I realized that they thought I was the guys agent, and that I was responsible for setting his schedule. I figured what the heck.
Later on, about a week later, I had him booked for several shows, and both of us were making quite good money. And all because of a misunderstanding. He wanted to perform at a party for kids, but he got me instead. I wanted a pumpkin mocha, but got green tea instead. They wanted an agent to book this rising superstar, and got me instead.
But all in all, these mistakes added up to some good money for me and my new friend, who said his name was Harry something. Nice guy, Harry.
